President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday brought Bungoma County to a standstill when he went there to campaign for his re-election. Uhuru, who was accompanied by his deputy, William Ruto, toured Kimilili where residents elected Dismus Barasa as their MP. Barasa contested the seat using the Jubilee Party which is associated with Uhuru and Ruto. Bungoma County is regarded as an opposition stronghold but going by the number of people who welcomed the father of the nation, the region may now be labeled a swing vote. He could hardly believe it.
