Grief has engulfed Kapyoswo village Marakwet East District after two people died on Sunday following an argument over politics.
The two, alleged to be supporters of different parliamentary aspirants, differed over which candidate was popular than the other.
According to a witness, the two were drinking in a local pub discussing politics. One of the men felt infuriated after it was said that his candidate will not win the forthcoming elections.
Angered, he stoned his friend to death before fleeing away. The locals on learning what had transpired pursued him, caught up with him and lynched him.
While confirming the incident, Marakwet East OCPD Elijah Maina said that no suspect had been arrested so far. He added that police had launched a manhunt to arrest the suspects and promised that those who participated in the mob will be arrested.
The bodies were taken to Marakwet District hospital mortuary.
