The University failed to inform the students adequately of the impending security drill, leading to the death of one lady. About 30 students were also injured, some of them seriously. Most of them sustained injuries after jumping from a storey building fearing for their lives.
The University will take care of all medical expenses, and in a statement to newsrooms yesterday, said it had engaged professional post-traumatic counselling service.
In the same statement, Strathmore revealed the identity of the member of staff who lost her life as Esther Kidambi from the catering department.
