Mudavadi Enters into a Coalition Agreement with Uhuru and Ruto

Kenya Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi’s UDF party has entered into a pre-election coalition agreement with fellow Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA and William Ruto’s URP. The agreement was signed at the Laico Regency Hotel this evening and deposited with the Registrar of Political Parties.

Under the agreement, Mudavadi and Uhuru will battle out for the presidential ticket through a nomination process that will take place within the next 14 days to pick the flag bearer. The loser will get the Majority Leader position if the coalition wins the 2013 elections. William Ruto will remain the running mate of whomever between Mudavadi and Uhuru is nominated as the presidential candidate.
