Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has decided to chop off half of his salary to contribute towards paying teachers.
The philanthropic Senator shared the message on his twitter account and added that he would file a motion in the Senate that would see highly paid civil servants get their salary slashed by fifty percent. This statement came hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the country about the education crisis and stated that a pay increase for teachers was not possible.
