SDE have broken the news of extremely poor salaries of Churchill comedians who’ve been keeping Kenyans glued to their Televisions set every Thursday and Sunday Night. It has been alleged that Churchill pays his comedians Ksh. 1,000 per show, that is 4,000/= per month. These figures are shocking but they have been confirmed by more than one of the comedians.
The bitter comedians who referred to Churchill as a mean guy claim that only 2 of their comedians are paid 10,000/= per show while others receive 1,000/= and the few lucky one’s who have their shows aired get 5,000/= while them (Churchill and the organizers) earns millions.
These figures were also confirmed by AKA, popularly known as AYEYA who for sometime now has also been missing on the show with rumours going round that he has also quite.
Speculations on the crisis at Churchill’s Reality Comedy Show started with the rumor of a fallout between Teacher Wanjiku and Churchill. We later learned from reliable source that Teacher Wanjiku had left this show months ago also due to poor pay.
Daniel Ndabuki popularly known as Churchill has always been credited for the transformation of Kenyan Comedy and for tapping and nurturing new talents in the laugh industry.
However, If these speculations about him are true, then I think he should do something about it since these comedians are in the level of celebrities and they deserve a reasonable pay, not just bus fare.
