Deputy President
William Ruto will be coming back in Kenya from The Hague, on Wednesday evening
after the Office of the Prosecutor admitted that all their witnesses had not
arrived. Ruto will be back to resume his State duties before returning to the
Netherlands next week.
It is clear that the prosecution's Senior Trial Attorney Anton Steynberg on Tuesday sought an adjournment of the trial, saying that their first expert witness will be arriving at The Hague on Thursday, and would be ready to testify by Tuesday next week.
This move comes barely hours after the commencement of the trials. Deputy President William Ruto's lawyer Karim Khan yesterday accused the prosecution side for lack of preparedness in the landmark case.
