International Criminal Court (ICC) has a huge challenge to maintain its reputation after yet another key figure on the witness side decided not to testify against Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.
Mombasa Senator, Hassan Omar, who is widely known to have coached and bribed International Criminal Court (ICC) witnesses to incriminate President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy William Ruto has finally apologized to the two jubilee leaders saying he was misguided by the devil to incriminate them at the ICC.
In a letter he wrote to the Office the President and also copied to the Office of the Deputy President last week, Hassan, who was the commissioner of the Kenya National Human Right Commission (KNHRC), during the 2007-08 post election violence, said he was pressurized by foreign embassies who were working with Kenya’s opposition during the time to incriminate the two leaders.
He relieved himself from the cases noting that he thought the ICC proceedings would be carried in a free and fair manner but realized later than the ICC has been politicised by Western Countries to accomplish their selfish agenda.
Hassan said he was part of the witnesses who were supposed to testify on Ruto’s case on Wednesday but said he cannot testify on cases which have been tilted to fit a particular political agenda.
He admitted he was among the witnesses on Uhuru and Ruto cases but said he is not ready to testify on cases which were only meant to embarrass the sovereignty of the Republic of Kenya.
