Caught on camera buying voters

A report by the Kenya Human Rights Commission has revealed voter bribery around the country.

The video which has a clip of voters receiving cash and further instructions in Nairobi and Kisii has been aired on Al Jazeera just a day to the election.

The two camps which have been caught on camera belong to both the Jubilee and CORD alliances.

This, according to Atsango Chesoni, amounts to an election offence.

However, nothing has been done so far and this has without doubt sent mixed reactions.

Adams Oloo was brought live on screen by the Al Jazeera team and he clearly explained that the laws enforcing the vice have been neglected.

With all the voter education around the country, what has clearly come out is the fact that there was not enough work done.

However, experts say that the law might have been put to paper but the economic situation does not support it.

People are without money to sustain themselves and their families. This forces them to make a chase for any money that comes their way.

Whether any action will be taken or not we shall have to wait and see.

The relevant bodies should however make a move in order to show some sense of seriousness and trust.

Passing money around can be taken for voter buying but it can also go an extra mile to blow things out of proportion.

Let us all maintain the peace an tranquility with respect to the law.
