Royal Media Services (RMS) is pushing for Jubilee Coalition’s adverts to be aired after 10 pm (during the Naija movies), despite booking them for Prime Time.
According to credible sources, senior management at RMS hatched a plan to bar Uhuru’s adverts being aired during prime time since their preferred candidate’s (Raila Odinga) adverts are aired at this time.
They said if they air Jubilee and CORD adverts simultaneously, Jubilee Alliance will get a jet propulsion in the next two weeks since most of the viewers of Citizen TV come from Uhuru/Ruto’s strongholds.
Citizen TV is owned by S.K Macharia who is chief campaigner of CORD Presidential flag bearer Prime Minister Raila Odinga and is also a Summit Member at the Raila led Alliance.
Sources close to the media magnate says, the top management were infuriated by Jubilee Presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta’s soaring popularity and they are now looking for ways to scuttle and choke his Presidential bid.
On Monday, the same media house barred Uhuru Kenyatta’s pointman Kabando wa Kabando from participating in Monday Live talk show.
One of the employees of Citizen TV revealed that they have been ordered to give Jubilee Alliance a semi-blackout with minimal airtime until after the March 4th.
Is this the media freedom SK Macharia was crying for during the former President Moi’s regime?
