Sonko says it is only a matter of time before he takes the senatorship through The National Alliance party.
“I am waiting for the General Election to be confirmed by Nairobians as their first senator. I know my competitors, I respect them, but I think they will not give me stiff competition,” he says.
The Makadara MP will battle for the seat with Westlands MP and Local Government Minister Fred Gumo and Kasarani MP Elizabeth Ongoro both in ODM.
The youthful MP does not shy away from drama, and his brand of politics has earned him friends and foes alike.
Sonko faults the media saying they only focus on the way he dresses or the comical things he does thereby losing the picture of a leader who stands with his people.
The 37-year-old politician is banking on youth to propel him to senatorship, as he has been instrumental in empowering them.
