An Egerton University student was among other South Sudanese nationals who were yesterday charged at a Nakuru court with allegations that they had raped a 7 year old girl in Nakuru.
The four Thiong Thiong Ghak, 23, Deng Thiong Ghak 16, Deng Arugi Kuany 15, Deng Dau Deng 17 were accused of accosting the girl kidnapping her and multiply defiling her at a deserted house in the area.
The court heard that the girl was rescued by a Good Samaritan who found her unconscious at the deserted house and rushed her to Nakuru District Hospital where medics confirmed that she had been severely defiled and seriously injured.
The senior principal magistrate ruled that the underage suspects be taken for an age assessment test before the next hearing which will be held on September 20.
The university student was released on a bond of Sh. 200,000 while the minors released on a cash bail of Sh. 50,000 each.
