In the past, couples have become stuck t0gether during s3'x with a condition known as p3'nis c@ptivus. The medical condition is rare and occurs when the v@'gina cl@mps down on the p3'nis much more firmly than usual, making it impossible for the p3'nis to withdraw from the v@'gina. The condition, however, is not permanent and usually corrects itself after a time.

"When the p3'nis is in the v@gina it becomes increasingly eng0'rged," Dr John Dean, a UK-based s3'xual physician, told the BBC. "The muscles of the woman's p3'lvic floor contract rhythmically at 0rgasm. While those muscles contract the p3'nis becomes stuck and further eng0'rged."

To separate the couple suffering from p3'nis c@ptivus, doctors administer an injection commonly used to dil@te the ut3rus of pr3gnant women. Another method is tranquilising the man to make his muscles relax.

In 2009, it was reported that a c0uple got stu'ck t0gether after suffering from p3'nis c@p'tivus. The incident occurred in a small town in southern Philippines. The c0uple were stu'ck for more than 17 hours before they were separated.
