Kenya Deputy President William Ruto today appeared in person at the ICC status conference on his case at The Hague today. Ruto told the ICC judges that he is a victim of falsehoods but has fully cooperated with the court’s prosecution and will continue to do so to prove his innocence.
The told the ICC judges there were two sets of victims from the 2007/2008 post election violence – those whose lives and property were destroyed and those like him who are victims of a “syndicate of falsehoods and a conspiracy of lies”.
