Changamwe OCPD Joseph Muthee said locals who had seen a body inside the container called them.
“We received a report from the public early in the morning that the body of a male adult was found wrapped in a polythene bag and was lying next to Barclays Bank offices in Changamwe,” said Muthee.
Mr Muthee said they suspect murder and that it was committed elsewhere before the body was dumped at the bank, adding that they have launched investigation to establish the circumstances behind the incident.
“I don’t believe that the incident could have taken place in Changamwe, he said.
He further said the identity of the deceased was not known, adding that they were waiting for family members to come and claim the body, which has been taken to the Coast Provincial General Hospital mortuary.
