The President elect Uhuru Kenyatta has been put to task by Kenyan women to deliver to his campaign pledges of absorbing more women in public appointive posts.
Speaking yesterday in Nairobi, women leaders led by Rahab Muiu of theMaendeleo ya Wanawake said that Uhuru has attained a great platform to raise the status of women in high profile positions in the country.
“After many pledges during campaigns it’s now time for Uhuru to lie in the bed he made himself and not disappoint women”, she said.
She added that Kenyans will be keenly watching the composition of Uhuru’s Government to see if it reflects what he stood for during campaigns and what his manifesto stands for.
They urged Raila of CORD to graciously accept defeat and embrace the hand of cooperation extended by Uhuru for the unity of the country.
