News just in indicates that Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto and Kalonzo Musyoka are set to hold coalition talks at around one o’clock in an as yet undisclosed Nairobi hotel. The talks between the presumptive candidates for the presidency on TNA, URP and WDM party tickets respectively are expected to chart the way forward for the candidates as the March 2013 election date comes ever close.
The trio were famously in the much maligned G7 Alliance which disbanded after it was criticized for championing the politics of tribal division. This latest meeting represents the clearest indication yet that the trio might band together to produce one candidate for the presidency.
The last time these three met they were joined by Raphael Tuju but there is still no confirmation yet whether the former Rarieda MP and presidential candidate will attend today’s meeting.
Today’s meeting comes a few days after the latest Synovate poll suggested that Uhuru and his fellow DPM Musalia Mudavadi have an inside chance of trouncing PM Raila Odinga should they go against him a run-off.
