Jubilee Presidential Candidate Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday exuded confidence that he would win the elections.
“I have confidence that we shall emerge victorious. We trust that it will be that way, but at the end of the day we are willing to accept the result of the people,” said Uhuru
He was addressing the press after casting his vote at Mutomo Primary school in Gatundu South Constituency, Kiambu County.
Uhuru arrived at the polling station accompanied by his mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, his wife Margaret and his son at 11.10am.
The Jubilee flag bearer added that Jubilee Coalition would win in the first round of voting.
The presidential candidate said he was confident that Kenyans will vote for him in large numbers.
He added that he had witnessed Kenyans turn up in large numbers, which was an encouraging sign.
He further urged Kenyans to exercise patience in places where IEBC systems were posing challenges.
The candidate urged Kenyans to vote peacefully as they choose their fourth president.
He said those who feel they have been deprived of their right in the electoral process should seek justice instead of resorting to unlawful means.
“There is no need for any antagonism or violence. There are institutions to resolve disputes,” Uhuru added.
He said he was concerned about reports of incident where five policemen and some members of public were killed by gangsters suspected to be members of the outlawed Mombasa Republican Council (MRC).
