Residents of Kisumu are optimistic that the Supreme Court ruling will favour and be beneficial to all Kenyans.
Spending most of their time glued on Television sets, majority of the residents have been following the proceedings aired live. Most restaurants and social places with televisions sets had groups of people watching while a number of boda boda operators followed from their pocket radios.
Pastor Morris Opere who has been following the proceedings said come Saturday, the truth about all that happened in the General Election would finally come out.
He called on the residents to accept the ruling of the court even if it will be against their expectations.
“The Supreme Court should make a ruling based on the evidence and in the interest of all Kenyans,” Opere told The Standard.
Tough call
Felix Omondi said based on the strong cases both parties were putting before the court, it will be a tough one for the judges but at the end of the day, the ruling will be a landmark one.
He said in their ruling, the judges should ensure that Kenya becomes the winner and peace prevails.
A barber in Kisumu town, Evans Omenda, said he could not stop his normal working schedule as life has to continue with or without the petition in court.
Mr Omenda said he would continue with his job even after the ruling no matter which side emerges the winner, since the most important thing was for the country to remain united.
