A 21 year old man is seeking refuge at Songhor police station in Tinderet District after angry villagers wanted to stone him to death for allegedly killing a 40 year old man following a love dispute.
Emmanuel Kipketer, is said to have killed David Kibet Ng'etich on Thursday night at Labuiywo Village, Ainamng'etuny location after quarreling over a woman.
According to an eye witness, the two met at a local pub and after drinking, an argument ensued .They were heard mentioning a woman’s name who is known to be a waitress at a nearby bar.
It is during the argument that Emmanuel hit David on the head using a blunt object inflicting a serious cut on his head.
While confirming the attack, OCS Songhor Police Station Mr. Paul Imala said that the two differed over love issues. He condemned the act and urged locals to amicably solve issues when anything arises.
David passed on at Maraba Sub District Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
