The alliance between Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto has provided majority of Kalenjin MPs with a sigh of relief in terms of campaign funds.
The deal involves huge monetary perks with the many closed door meetings leaving MPs in the committee to pocket Sh 100,000 per sitting.
A vocal MP whose pay slip is very slim due to the many loans he has taken was heard boasting that now he has enough money to campaign and recapture his parliamentary seat.
“While selling Uhuru might face challenges, I will still win back my parliamentary seat,” he is reported to have said.
Uhuru-Ruto Campaign secretariat has planned to use over 20 billion Kenya shillings to capture the Presidency in the forthcoming general election.
