Mathira MP Ephraim Maina was overheard bragging aloud that he has so much money that he would still be left with a bundle even if he used Sh 1000 notes to boil githeri (maize and beans).
Maina who owns a state of the art helicopter promised his supporters that he will pour money with or without the Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rules.
He even claimed he has done so in the past and declared that IEBC cannot enforce the new rules.
“Enforced by who?” He said, adding that “IEBC is a toothless bulldog”.
The Mathira lawmaker is also the owner of Kirinyaga Construction Ltd which was known during the era of Moi government for shady road deals.
Currently Kirinyaga Construction Ltd has been contracted by new Republic of South Sudan for construction of major roads in Juba town and its outskirts.
