According to the latest poll carried by Gallup, Prime Minister Raila Odinga extended
a wide lead as Eldoret North William Ruto reincarnates and is proving
himself that he is among the “horses”
The poll shows
ODM party leader leading in the presidential race with 28.6 percent compared to
21 .5 percent support of Deputy
Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Ruto
garnered 14.5 percent, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka 9.9 percent ,Musalia
Mudavadi 7.3 percent, Martha Karua -5
percent and Peter Kenneth closes with
1.7 percent.
The poll also showed that Ruto
is doing substantially better than what the Ipsos Synovate poll released
earlier this week showed.
The Synovate poll showed
that Ruto’s support had dropped to 6 percent from 12 percent over the last two
months.
The synovate poll still indicated that the
presidential race was turning into a two horse race between Raila and Uhuru who
had 36 and 30 percent support respectively.
However, Gallup poll
indicated that it is a much tighter race with the main candidates more closely
bunched together.
The poll was conducted
between July 25th to August 7 th.
