Addressing a series of rallies as he concluded his tour of western region, Mr Mudavadi noted that majority of the Luhya community supported efforts by COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli to unite the leaders ahead of the next general election.
“Atwoli is a respected leader and we cannot afford to go against the reconciliation bid he has initiated,” Mudavadi said.
Mr Atwoli recently held unity talks with Mudavadi, Ford Kenya leader and Trade Minister Moses Wetangula and Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.
Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa skipped the meeting.
