Ngure was MP for Rarieda between 1997 to year 2002 when he was trounced by presidential hopeful Raphael Tuju.
Ngure was also the former chairman of Kisumu based Lake Basin Development Authority.
The MP has been a close friend of Prime Minister Raila Odinga since 1980s.
During the purchase of Kisumu Molasses (Spectre International) by Odinga family in 1990s, Ngure was very instrumental in organising the transfer and legitimate ownership of the factory.
