Presidential hopeful Cyrus Jirongo is currently swimming on murky waters, after details emerged that the party which is sponsoring his bid, the Federal Party of Kenya (FPK), is crafting a coalition pact with another presidential aspirant without his consent.
Party Chairman Kizito Temba said that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) would meet on Wednesday to withdraw their support for Jirongo’s presidential bid.
“The correct position is that NEC will meet next Wednesday and the agenda is to see how we can go into an agreement with a different political party. We are convinced as a party that although Jirongo has expressed interest to run on FPK, we do not think he is the best aspirant. I do not want to anticipate whatNEC will decide, but among the parties we are considering working with are TNA and New Ford-Kenya,” Kizito said
He also said they decided to withdraw their support from Jirongo’s bid after realising that he is a mole and a foot soldier of Prime Minister Raila Odinga
