Residents of Mt. Elgon District are in fear and panic after two bodies of brothers were found with bullet wounds in a maize plantation in the area. Two more bodies were found with their throats slit at their home in the area.
At about mid day a farmer in the area raised a distress call when he found two bodies of brothers lying in his farm. The brothers Brown Shapil and Micah Shapil had multiple bullet wounds on their body.
In another incident, Jacob Kemoi and Lydia Chelagat are alleged to have been taking supper in their house when unknown people accosted them and slit their throats after a scuffle. Kemoi’s mother heard the commotion coming from her son’s house and rushed there. She was shocked when she found her son and daughter in law lying in a pool of blood.
It is still not clear what the motive of the murder was and police have launched an investigation and man hunt for the assailants.
