Healer 'infected 16 patients with HIV

The "'Healer' infects with HIV" story is toppingstrange news stories tonight. Swiss police said a music teacher arrested last August in Berne for allegedly spreading HIV with AIDS-infected needles, was re-arrested at his home for not showing up for his criminal trial Friday, according to a March 15 Reuters report.

Sources say the so-called "healer" infected 16 people with HIV using dirty needles. Allegedly, the man was practicing acupuncture without a license to do so. However, he denies the charges.

The man has been on trial since March 6, but suddenly didn't show up on Thursday. A warrant was issued for his arrest and Swiss authorities stormed his home and arrested him and another woman at his Berne residence.

The case came to light when a person at the man's music school was diagnosed with an HIV infection. However, they traced the infection back to the acupuncture session.

After further investigation, police found other HIV-infected individuals, all of whom received acupuncture with the so-called healer. Of note: All of the alleged victims were students at the man's music studio, where they were recruited.

While charges suggest the "healer" infected others with HIV, the man is free of the disease. Imagine that.
