The Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) has finally set the much awaited national Delegates Convention(NDC) for the 28th February and March 1st to elect national office bearers.

The decision was made by the National Executive council which met at the Orange House under the chairmanship of party leader Raila Odinga.

The two hour meeting which brought together the outgoing officials of the party asked those interested in the 26 party positions up for grabs to show interest to the party elections board NEC also warned against bribery and tribal-inclined campaigns saying the elections board will disqualify those aspirants who will be found to be in breach of the party’s electoral laws.

Some 3200 delegates are expected to converge at the Kasarani Safaricom Stadium or the two-day event billed to injectfresh leadership in the country’s once largestpolitical party.

Party leader Raila said he will offer himself to the party members for the party leader’s position at the NDC while outgoing secretary general professor Anyang’ Nyong’o asked for more time to make up his mind on whether he will defend his seat.

Outgoing party chairman Henry Kosgey who has kept off crucial party activities did not attend the meeting as was the chairman of the party elections board Franklin Bett.
