A 26 year old mother of two was yesterday afternoon attacked, raped and strangled by her neighbor before he left her for dead in her house at Kolanya village in Teso North District.
Neighbors said the woman was preparing lunch for her children while they played outside the house when her neighbor entered the house and forced her to a corner of the house. She raised alarm but the man strangled her.
The children rushed to report the incident to their father who was attending a peace meeting called for by the area chief. Administrators and authorities in attendance rushed to the home.
They were all astonished when they found the naked body of the woman lying on the ground with traces of severe rape. She was still alive when she was found and was rushed to Malakisi dispensary but she died there after.
According to the woman’s close friend, the neighbor works as a mason and has two wives, he had been pursuing her for a long period of time though she rejected him leading to the rape incident.
Police in Moding police post are however hunting for the man and hope to arrest him since he is known to residents.
