Sunday, August 02, 2012 - Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger insists he still has a lot to offer at Arsenal, effectively shelling out any prospect of retirement soon.
The 62-year old has been at the helm of the Gunners for over a decade and is the club’s most successful manager.
Despite the frustrations of the last year where he has lost the likes of Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Cesc Fabrigas, Alex Song and striker Robin Van Persie, the Gunners boss remains bold.
“There are still miles in my legs,” he said ahead of this afternoon’s clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
"In life it is like you are going on a mission and it does not cross my mind to finish.”
Wenger echoed his Manchester United counterpart Sir Alex Ferguson’s philosophy as he spoke.
“Sir Alex, now 71, once said: “Retirement is for young people.”
On the same breath, Wenger, 62, said: “You work as long as you can.”
Meanwhile, the Frenchman has revealed he enjoys rebuilding his side after signing Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski during the summer transfer window.
"To rebuild is exciting as well. We can click very quickly because we look like a team on the pitch at the moment," he said.
"I believe that we look a team on the pitch and a team who is ready to fight together.
"We have not scored and have not been completely at our best going forward, but that will happen eventually.
