The Supreme Court has nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election, ordering for a fresh presidential poll in 60 days. The court stated that IEBC did not conduct free and fair elections but cleared Kenyatta of any malpractice. They also stated that the irregularities experienced affected the final outcome of the election.

Out of the 7 judges, 2 (Justice Jackton Ojwang' and Njoki Ndung'u) gave dissenting views saying the election was free and fair. Chief Justice David Maraga stated that the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta is null and void and he was not validly elected.
