She said:
“I am not praying for bad things to happen, but if ICC crimes are committed, and Kenya does not attempt to try those cases, the court will do its duty and discharge its obligation under the Rome Statute”
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto were among the high level suspects who were unsuccessfully tried at the ICC. Bensouda blamed the collapse of the cases to interference of witnesses.
Bensouda said that Kenya was a State Party to the Rome State and if crimes against humanity are committed she will act.
