......Friday when the DP visited Embakasi West constituency. Odanga caught Ruto's eyes as he surged through the crowd in a bid to meet him.
“When the deputy President saw that Odanga was struggling to get closer to him, that is when he instructed me in Swahili saying acha huyo hustler mwenzangu apite (let my fellow hustler come),” DP's Spokesman, Emmanuel Tallam was quoted by Nairobi News.
As the two shared a meal of roasted beef, the father of three requested to visit the deputy Head of State and was asked to leave his contacts with Ruto's aides.
On the day of the visit, he received a call inviting him to an 11am meeting with the Deputy President which he hurriedly attended despite having dirty shoes.
“He told me that he just wanted to verify that it was me he shared a meal with. My legs were shaking. Just being in his presence was an incredible feeling. These are the people I only see on TV,” Odanga recalled.
