When leaders went to bury Lucy at Kibaki’s Kanyange Home, she was the only politician from Nyeri who was not allowed to access the venue.

Although Wambui mourned Lucy and described her as a close friend of many years, they didn’t see each other eye to eye especially after Kibaki took over power.
