At least he gets to have a couple of days where he is not confronted with the sight of students demonstrating against him. While the university was being shut down indefinitely, Babu Owino was fielding questions at various media houses regarding issues on SONU and the elections.
It is in one such interview that Babu Owino revealed his money sources as well as his relationship with some powerful individuals at state house.
While he accused his political opponents in Embakasi East Constituency for bankrolling his opponent Mike Jacobs, Babu Owino revealed that he was a beneficiary of 2 million funding from controversial Nairobi businessman Paul Kobia.
He also revealed he is close friends with Joma Gecaga, Uhuru Kenyatta’s nephew and PA. Explaining their relationship, Babu Owino said that, 'Jomo is my personal friend. I have known him for the last seven years. He is also my business partner and we attend the same church, besides doing many other things together.'
