The musician whose real name was Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba was performing at the the Festival des musiques urbaines d’Anoumabo (FEMUA) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivore early today April 24th when he fell in the middle of his act.
He had performed two songs and was performing the third when he suddenly slumped on stage (that's him behind the dancers moments before he slumped).
He died before he could be brought to hospital, a spokesman for the Ivosep morgue in Abidjan told Reuters news agency. There had been no reports of ill health before now. May his soul rest in peace, amen.
