REVEALED: AS GOVERNOR JOHO’S SECURITY IS BEING WITHDRAWN BY THE STATE, HERE IS A LIST OF KENYA'S VIPS AND THE NUMBER OF BODYGUARDS THEY HAVE

The Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta has withdrawn Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho’s security detail and that of his Kilifi counterpart, Amason Kingi, claiming they were too many.

Joho and Kingi’s bodyguards were reduced from 15 to a mere 5 leaving them exposed and vulnerable.

In a statement to the press, the Jubilee Government announced a plan to reduce the number of bodyguards attached to VIPs in Kenya as a way of cutting costs as well as retaining more police to protect common mwananch.

Currently, over 10, 000 police officers out of the 80, 000 police officers we have in the country are attached to guard very few VIPs, leaving only 70, 000 to protect 40 million Kenyans.
