Maranda High School, which has been performing well, obtained a mean score of 10.67, an improvement from last year’s 10.5.

Of its 369 candidates, 68 scored As, 166 A-, 87B+, 30Bs, 14B-, 3C+ one C.

Principal Boaz Owino attributed the performance to the hard work of students, teachers and board of directors.

“The students have improved and have obtained quality grades. This is a good sign for the school. 361 candidates will definitely go to the university,” he said.

In 2014, 23 students of the school’s computer studies students missed their results in a case of exam irregularities.

Kanga High School emerged the best in Nyanza with a mean score of 10.82. It had 285 candidates, 41 of whom scored As, 121 A-, 79 B+, 28 B.

Principal Michael Gweno lauded teachers, parents and candidates for the team work that saw Kanga emerge best following recognition as a national school.

Sawagongo High School in Kisumu attained a mean grade of 10.138 with 27 candidates scoring As, 100 B+, 53Bs, 8B-,5C+ and one C.

The Education ministry cancelled the results of 5,101 of the 525,802 students who sat the exam over cheating.

Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i said Nairobi, Makueni and Meru counties were the most affected of the 47 counties. No cases of cheating were recorded in isiolo county.
