Aside from being an Oscar winner and a style star, Lupita Nyong'o clearly stands out all on her own with her natural beauty. So when the award-winningactress dropped her lip balm into Pharrell Williams's famous hat that was used to collect money for the pizza deliveryman's tip at the Academy Awards Sunday, it's not surprising that fans wanted to get in on the action, too.
The Clarins HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing lip balm, which retails for $24, quickly attracted attention (complete with the hashtag #lupitalipbalm and GIFs), and according to a release issued by the Frenchcosmetics company, the lip balm "almost sold out across the country overnight."
"We were more than thrilled. We were ecstatic. And shocked. And — frankly — screaming at our televisions," Clarinswrote in a blog posttitled, "As Seen on Tele:Clarins Goes to the Oscars."
Although it's sold out at the moment, Clarinstweeted to an interested customer that the company has "ordered extra stock from Paris."
We suppose host Ellen DeGeneres was right when she collected the lip balm and joked, "Lupita's lip balm! That's worth something."
