REVEALED: Lupita Nyong’o's Stunning Red Dress on Sunday Cost Sh 600,000

Lupita Nyong’o is now probably the second most mentioned Kenyan in the world… obviously after Obama. Her performance in the movie 12 Years a Slave has won her admiration and lots of respect. She has graced many magazine covers and given countless TV interviews. She definitely has a very bright future ahead of her.

As if the interest she’s generating from the movie is not enough, Lupita has proved herself a fashion icon. On Sunday during the Golden Globe red carpet event, she wore a stunning red cape dress. She was voted the best dressed by many entertainment networks, including the more thorough E!.

However, her dress did not come cheaply.

The dress is made by designer Ralph Lauren, known for his luxury clothing. According to Daily Mail, it will cost you £4265 to have it. That converts to a little over 600,000 Shillings. Well, she has the money now, and she must dress appropriately.

Extravagance is well allowed in Hollywood, as that is what keeps you in the limelight and helps you land more movie and endorsement deals…. Way to go Lupita, way to go.
