His ‘Under 18’ and ‘Sitoi kitu kidogo’ hit songs left fans impressed, while other upcoming artistes looked up to him as a role model in the industry but a few years down the line, Jimwat’s is a sad life story!
Soon after going off the musical grid, Jimwat was reportedly doing hard drugs, living carelessly and not paying attention to his career which led to his parents sending him abroad for counseling and rehabilitation.
Recently, Jimwat went back to studio to try and revive his career but just when the sun was starting to rise on his career again, he was involved in a gruesome road accident along Thika road next to Thika mall on Saturday 5th October 2013.
He was in the company of two other guys, when their car was rammed by a Prado from the rear. Of the three, Jimwat was injured the most and was rushed to Kawaha Wendani hospital where he was diagnosed with multiple fractures on both legs and some fractured ribs. He was then rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital for further treatment and is scheduled to undergo reconstructive surgery that should enable him to walk again.
With high hospital bills pilling up, close family and friends have been reaching out to fans. According to his Unicorn stable producer, Jimwat's new song Jikaze will be available for free download on the internet for limited amount of time as a way of giving back to his fans for having stood by him all this time.
We wish him a quick and full recovery as he goes through the surgery and the healing process.
