Police in Embu are investigating a bizarre incident in which a man collapsed and died after taking chapati at the Embu North Administration Police canteen yesterday afternoon.
Timothy Mugo died seconds later after taking the chapati and later a beer.
According to Embu North police boss,James Karisa, the man collapsed and died moments after eating the chapati while having fun with his friends.
Karisa said that Mugo arrived at the canteen and ordered drinks. Later on, he ordered a chapati which he ate and collapsed minutes after finishing eating.
The police boss said that the cause of the death is not yet clear. The samples of the chapati and beer he took have been collected for analysis at the Government Chemist.
The body was taken to Embu District Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
