Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko Declares Daughters' Wealth amid Claims of Neglect

He has been known for his ostentatious display of wealth every time he is in the public light. But this time, Mike Sonko did not let his lack of an outdoor audience stop him from responding to some very disturbing accusations.

Kawaha Tungu, a gutter blog notorious for posting hateful rumours, went on a rampage claiming that the senator’s family was suffering because Sonko was not providing for his kids. It goes ahead to say the family situation is so bad that his daughter could not even afford sanitary towels.

An enraged Sonko took to his facebook page to post this update, aptly titled, ‘Response To Kahawa Tungu’:

Kahawa Tungu posted some malicious information about me and my family. Which made my elder daughter annoyed after seeing she can't afford sanitary pad. My family was aggrieved especially Saumu my first born & my wife who was recently discharged from hospital after undergoing a surgery. They were very traumatized it was a very long night my children cried the whole night but God wiped their tears.There's nothing that i wouldn't do for my family. I get the strength to do what i do from them. They motivate me when am feeling low, they inspire me when i need heart and they are always there for me. To my beautiful daughters Saumu, Kaindi, Salma & Sandra. I love you all and i appreciate every single minute that we spend together. To my dear wife Prim, you were there when no one else was, i love you, you're God sent! I take care of my family like any real man should and i will continue to do so till the end of time. Good day watu wangu

To silence all naysayers, Sonko uploaded images of the insurance cover cards, which show that every single member of his family has been comprehensively covered.

But the good senator did not stop there; he went a step ahead and declared his daughters’ wealth. Without any worry or fear of fraudsters, Sonko uploaded certified copies of his daughters’account balances.

First born, 19 year old Saumu, has a very healthy bank account at Diamond Trust Bank boasting an eye popping 2.1Million! And just so you know the other kids are not neglected, 17 year old Salma also has a tidy sum in the bank of 0.7Million, while 6 year old Sandra has 0.3Million in her account!
