Trial Chamber V of the International Criminal Court(ICC) has recommended to the court’s presidency that the trial of Kenya Deputy President and former radio presenter Joshua arap Sang be conducted in Kenya, or alternatively in Arusha, Tanzania.
The chamber, comprised of Presiding Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji, Judge Olga Herrera Carbucci and Judge Robert Fremr, said the move would bring justice closer to the victims and the affected communities in Kenya.
The court today also announced that the trial for Ruto and Sang will start on September 10. They were earlier scheduled to start last week.
