The deceased, Adelight Akinyi, died from stab wounds on her neck, back and genital area in the 5am incident.
According to Mrs Lilian Chemutai, a neighbour, the couple had quarrelled in the past but there had not been any serious incident.
“She screamed calling me to her rescue saying her husband was killing her but I ignored thinking it was their normal quarrel,” Mrs Chemutai said on Thursday.
She said she realised all was not well when she heard the deceased begin to groan in pain.
“I screamed calling for help from neighbours and later police officers came to the scene and arrested her husband,” she said.
Another neighbour, Irene Cheptoo, said she learnt of the death when police came asking for the location of the house where a woman had been stabbed by her husband.
“We were not aware but we followed the police to the house where we found a half naked body, with knife wounds, laying on the ground,” said Ms Cheptoo.
They said they were surprised to hear the deceased's husband, Bernard Ong’are, ask the police to help him take his wife to hospital but was told she was already dead.
Area Police boss James Kimani said: “We have arrested the suspect and we are interrogating him to establish what really transpired upon which he will be arraigned in court.”
