City police are at a loss on how to handle the increasing cases of couples opting for ‘green lodges’ near Uhuru Park. Lovebirds, overcome by lust and unable to pay for a hotel room, are opting to have sex under the cover of greenery of Uhuru Park. Police on night patrol have caught some couples so engrossed in pleasure that they forget they are in public. The eucalyptus trees opposite Uhuru Park

in the Upper Hill area have particularly become a notorious ‘green lodge’. Two police officers on night patrol recently caught two lovebirds in the act but were amused when the offending couple quickly dressed up and fled. Unfortunately, the woman left her handbag, a pair of shoes and her underwear behind. “We suspect the woman had a small bag where she kept her identity card, or maybe she did not have an ID. It is now difficult to tell who these items belong to,” said one the officers. The woman is yet to claim the items. It is a crime to have sex or strip in public and one can be arrested and charged with public indecency.
