Balambala MP-elect Abdikadir Omar Aden

Balambala MP-elect Abdikadir Omar Aden has spoken of his confidence that he can collect the votes needed to win the Deputy Speaker’s post once the National Assembly officially begins its sittings on Thursday.

The ODM MP was speaking yesterday after he handed in his credentials to the clerk of the National Assembly Justin Bundi.

The legislature who previously worked as the Head of British American Tobacco (BAT) Horn of Africa Markets, said he has the necessary qualifications to take the job;

"I believe I have the necessary qualifications and the passion to perform under this position,” he said.
Aden will battle URP’s Sotik MP-elect Joyce Laboso and Makueni MP-elect Daniel Maanzo (also of CORD) for the post.
