Sonko, the immediate former Member of Parliament for Makadara, said that he was called over to Mombasa by the President elect and his deputy William Samoei Ruto for consultation.
The Senator elect said that Kenyatta and Ruto called him over to Kwale for a consultative meeting as the duo prepare to form the government once the petition challenging their election is done with.
Sonko, a close ally of Kenyatta and Ruto, enjoys a close working relationship with the two.
The Senator elect said that they held lengthy talks with Kenyatta and Ruto where they discussed the government operations.
He also noted that they discussed the role of the youth and how they should be included in the next government.
Acoording to Sonko, the two elected leaders promised to form an all inclusive government where the youth, the marginalised and other less priveleged groups will be equally represented.
He added that the President Elect and his deputy also discussed the plans they have for Nairobi County.
Sonko said that the two leaders promised to support him and the Governor elect Dr Evans Kidero in making Nairobi County the economic power house in East and Central Africa.
Sonko, who becomes the first Nairobi Senator, said that Kenyatta and Ruto noted that they will implement their Manifesto respecting the important timelines they outlined in each of the listed activities.
Sonko clinched the Nairobi Senatorial seat after garnering over 800,000 votes, beating his closest rival Bishop Margaret Wanjiru by over 300,000 votes.
Sonko came to limelight when he made his way to the 10th Parliament following a by election in Makadara where he floored political giants.
