Samsung Electronics vice-president, Mr George Ferreira said they are ready to supply the promised solar-powered laptops once the opportunity presents itself.
President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee team promised to give all children in public schools solar-powered laptops during the just concluded campaigns. If they win the suit filed against them by the CORD coalition, delivery of the laptops will be their first test in delivering their promises in their manifesto.
Samsung is currently delivering solar-powered laptops and generators in some African countries including Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda and DRC Congo.
“That is big for us. We are absolutely excited about the prospect. We will be biding like all other electronic manufactures will but our advantage will be that we are offering more than just laptop,” Samsung East Africa business leader Robert Ngeru noted.
